Beyond video games, Antonov co-authored the animated films Renaissance and The Prodigies and worked with the indie production company Darewise Entertainment.

In a Reddit AMA eight years ago, Antonov discussed his early career, starting as a transportation designer and then moving into advertising before finding his calling in the nascent video game industry. He described his entry into gaming as a fortunate opportunity to take creative risks and build entire worlds, starting with his first game, Redneck Rampage.
