Indus picks up five million downloads and concludes first international playtest in Manila

Author : Christopher Jan 22,2025

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, surpasses five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads just two months post-launch. This follows its success at the Google Play Awards, winning "Best Made in India Game 2024," and a successful international playtest in Manila.

This significant achievement positions Indus as a leading contender in the Indian gaming market, vying for dominance against competitors such as FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback and exposure, allowing local esports professionals to experience the game firsthand.

Further solidifying its esports ambitions, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, culminating in the Indus International Tournament. This tournament, running from October 2024 to February 2025, boasts a substantial INR 2.5 crore prize pool (approximately $31,000 USD).

Impressive Growth, Future Potential

While the five million downloads fall slightly short of the initial ten million pre-registrations, it's important to remember that pre-registration numbers don't always translate directly to downloads. The lower iOS download count also suggests room for growth within that market segment.

Despite this, Indus's rapid progress is noteworthy. SuperGaming's strategic moves—international playtests, an esports tournament, and more—clearly demonstrate ambitious plans for the game's future development.
