About the Hazari game:

1. It is a 4-player card game using a standard 52-card deck.

2. Each player receives 13 cards, totaling 52 cards.

3. Players have time to arrange their cards from highest to lowest.

4. When a player finishes arranging their cards from high to low, they call “Up.”

5. Once all four players are up, the player to the right of the dealer begins by throwing the first card.

6. The card with the highest value wins the trick, and the winner throws the next three cards in power order.

7. After all cards are thrown and won, players count how many cards they’ve collected.

8. Cards from Ace to 10 are worth 10 points; cards from 9 to 2 are worth 5 points.

9. This means A, K, Q, J, and 10 are worth 10 points, while 9 through 2 are 5 points.

10. The winner is the first to reach 1000 points over multiple games.

11. If Player 1 throws a card and another player throws the same card, the second one beats the first.

For example: if Player 1 throws AKQ of HEARTS, Player 2 throws 678 of SPADES, Player 3 throws AKQ of DIAMONDS, and Player 4 throws 55J of Hearts, then Player 3 wins with AKQ of Diamonds and takes all the cards.

12. Card Ranking from Highest to Lowest:

* TROY – any three identical cards: AAA, KKK, QQQ, JJJ, 101010, … 222

* COLOR RUN – three cards of the same suit in sequence:

AKQ of SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS

A23 of SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS

KQJ of SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS

QJ10 of SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS …

… 432 of SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS

* RUN – three sequential cards of any suits:

AKQ of any suits, mixed or same

A23 of any SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS

KQJ of any SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS …

… 432 of any SPADES, DIAMONDS, HEARTS, or CLUBS

* COLOR – any three cards of the same suit, not necessarily in order:

Example: KQ2 of Hearts or 589 of Spades. The highest card in the group determines the value when comparing colors.

Player A has K83 of SPADES

Player B has 639 of HEARTS

Player C has Q99 of DIAMONDS

Player D has K92 of SPADES

Player D wins because K92 beats K83.

* PAIR – a pair with any third card, e.g., 443, 99J, QQ6. The highest pair is AAK, the lowest is 223.

* INDI or INDIVIDUALS – cards that don’t form a set, same suit, or sequence:

Example: 5(hearts) 7(spades) 9(diamonds) – here the highest card is 9.

Similarly, K(hearts) 3(hearts) J(clubs) has K as the highest card.

How to play:

First, a player organizes their 13 cards into groups of 3, 3, 3, and 4.

1. One player throws the first 3 cards, then others throw their 3 highest cards.

2. The winner takes those cards and throws their next highest set; if they still have the highest, they take the next trick.

3. Again, the player throws 3 cards, and the highest value takes all.

4. The remaining 4 cards are thrown by the winner of the third round, and again the highest value wins.

5. The game continues until one player reaches 1000 points individually.
