Blizzard has recently unveiled exciting details about the new in-game housing system set to debut in World of Warcraft: Midnight. Although the expansion will follow The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, the early previews hint at a level of customization that surpasses many players' expectations.
In a recent developer blog, Blizzard showcased in-game videos that demonstrate the functionality of furniture placement. The system employs a grid layout with automatic snapping features, allowing players to arrange their furniture effortlessly. Furthermore, players can adorn larger pieces like shelves or tables with smaller accessories, which remain attached when these items are moved around.
The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for those who prefer straightforward organization and an Advanced Mode tailored for creative builders. Advanced Mode allows players to rotate objects along all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, facilitating the creation of intricate and visually appealing interiors.

Another standout feature is the ability to scale objects, catering to the diverse sizes of characters. Gnomes can craft cozy spaces, whereas larger races like tauren can enjoy more expansive layouts. Additionally, some furniture pieces designed specifically for the housing system will support recoloring, although this feature may not extend to legacy assets.
With World of Warcraft: Midnight still on the horizon, Blizzard is keeping the community engaged and eager by gradually revealing details about the upcoming content. This strategy ensures that players remain enthusiastic about the game's future developments.
