How to Play Okey
Okey is traditionally played with four players. Each player is dealt tiles, with the first player receiving 15 and the others getting 14. The game includes 106 tiles in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13, along with two fake Okey tiles.
At the start, tiles are shuffled and distributed automatically. Players arrange their tiles into groups or pairs. The remaining tiles are placed in the center of the table, with one tile designated as the indicator stone. The Okey stone, which matches the indicator stone in color and number, can substitute for any tile in the game, doubling the points if used to finish the game.
Normal Tile Arrangement
Players must form at least three pairs, either by arranging tiles of the same color in sequence or by grouping tiles of the same number in different colors.
Pair Formation
To win, a player must arrange all their tiles into pairs and discard the last tile to the center when they have seven pairs.
Indicator Rule
At the beginning of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's the Okey color, it affects the game; otherwise, two points are deducted.
End of the Game
The game concludes when a player discards their last tile. If it's not an Okey, it's a normal finish, deducting 2 or 4 points depending on the Okey color. Finishing with seven pairs or a color run from 1 to 13 results in different point deductions. An irregular color run deducts 8 points from opponents.
