PlayGood news for *Splinter Cell* fans: Ubisoft has shown it hasn’t forgotten about the iconic stealth series by quietly adding Steam Achievements to the 2013 title, *Splinter Cell: Blacklist*.

While we haven't received any major updates on the long-awaited Splinter Cell Remake since 2022—when IGN met with Ubisoft Toronto developers to explore their vision for the reboot—the developer made a subtle move overnight by updating the Steam achievement list for the 12-year-old Blacklist.

Ubisoft officially announced: “Agents, we are pleased to announce that Steam Achievements are now available for Splinter Cell: Blacklist!

These achievements will be retroactively awarded for progress already completed in your game, though you’ll need to launch the game at least once for the sync to occur. Once done, your previously unlocked Ubisoft Connect achievements will automatically appear as Steam achievements.

Interestingly, Ubisoft chose not to import the additional 19 online achievements originally available on consoles, allowing players to fully complete the Steam achievement list without restrictions.

Looking ahead, the Splinter Cell franchise is preparing for a full-scale return with a ground-up remake powered by the Snowdrop engine. While details remain scarce, creative director Chris Auty previously noted that the team is revisiting the original story and characters to modernize elements that may not have aged well, while preserving the essence of what made the first game so memorable.

In other Ubisoft-related news, the company recently established a new subsidiary centered around its top franchises—including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six—backed by a €1.16 billion (approximately $1.25 billion) investment from Chinese tech giant Tencent.

This announcement followed shortly after Ubisoft revealed that Assassin's Creed Shadows had surpassed 3 million players. The title arrives amid a turbulent period for the publisher, which faced several high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and canceled projects leading up to the game's release. With its stock price hitting record lows, all eyes are on Shadows to help restore confidence in the brand.
