Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Honors Like A Dragon’s 20th Milestone
Fans Vote on 20th Anniversary Merchandise Until March 21, 2025
Like A Dragon (LAD) will commemorate its 20th anniversary in December 2025. Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio launched the festivities with a fan-voting initiative, allowing players to select favorite in-game items to become real-world merchandise.
Fans can pick from 100 items, including lingerie, incense, mahjong tiles, a karaoke microphone, a luxury lighter, 20th-anniversary sake, themed pillows, Kiryu’s dragon mask, and other nods to the series’ legacy. Per the RGG voting site, the top-voted item is guaranteed to be produced within two years.
Voting began February 8, 2025, and runs through March 21, 2025, with fans able to vote once daily. A follow-up questionnaire will later determine the winning item’s design.
Like A Dragon’s 20th Anniversary Could Bring New Yakuza Remakes
RGG Studio first shared plans for its 20th anniversary in a December 8, 2024, post on Twitter (X) during its 19th anniversary. In a video, Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama thanked fans for their unwavering support.
Kicking off the 20th anniversary, RGG will launch Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20, 2025. Yokoyama noted that various events and announcements will follow, alongside the ongoing merchandise voting project.
No further details on additional events or games for the 20th anniversary have emerged since the video. The series’ 10th anniversary, which saw remakes like Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami, may hint at what’s next. Fans remain eager for major reveals.

On February 10, 2025, RGG Studio shared the PC requirements for Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii via Twitter (X). The recommended graphics card, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or equivalent, poses no issue for most modern gaming setups.
With the game also launching on last-gen consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, PC specs remain manageable. RGG Studio confirmed the game is Steam Deck verified.
SEGA recently released the game’s story trailer on YouTube, showcasing Majima’s high-seas adventure, narrated by Pirate King Raymond Law, voiced by wrestling star Samoa Joe.
