AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Confirmed: Official Release Announced

Author : Lillian May 26,2025

AMD has unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, a follow-up to the successful RX 9070 XT released in March. While details are sparse, this mid-range graphics card is generating significant interest among gamers.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT boasts 32 Compute Units and is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, a robust specification for a card aimed at 1080p gaming. Given its smaller size, it's no surprise that the RX 9060 XT will consume less power than its predecessor, with a Total Board Power (TBP) ranging from 150-182W. With half the Compute Units and roughly half the power consumption of the RX 9070 XT, the RX 9060 XT is expected to offer significantly less performance but should be more budget-friendly. Unfortunately, AMD has not yet disclosed pricing or a release date for this anticipated GPU.

The Budget Battles Have Begun

While AMD's silence on the Radeon RX 9060 XT's pricing is frustrating, it's likely to be priced competitively with the Intel Arc B580 and the recently launched RTX 5060, both of which have power budgets of 145W and 190W, respectively, and retail between $250 and $300. AMD appears poised to target this same market segment.

When the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT finally hits the market, gamers looking for a graphics card in the $300 range will have three compelling options from different manufacturers. If the RX 9060 XT remains within this price bracket, it will have a distinct advantage: it's the only card in its class with 16GB of VRAM, compared to the 8GB offered by Nvidia's RTX 5060 and the 12GB from Intel's Arc B580.

I'm eager to test the RX 9060 XT in the lab to evaluate its real-world performance. If it matches up well against its competitors, the larger frame buffer alone could extend its longevity as games increasingly demand more video memory. While the final price of the RX 9060 XT remains a mystery, it's shaping up to be a budget GPU worth keeping an eye on.
