A well-known card game for three players using a 24-card deck.
The game currently uses the following rules:
- A player must reach 880 points to enter the barrel phase.
- Points are cleared after three failed attempts to play the barrel.
- A player receives a bolt if they score no points in a round.
- Accumulating three bolts results in a 120-point penalty.
- Surrendering incurs a penalty equal to the current stake, with the other two players each receiving half that amount.
The game offers these configurable settings:
- Reach over 1000 points to win the game.
- Points reset when a player reaches 555 or -555 points.
- Barrel game initiation during a player's own turn without requiring bids (details below)
- New card deal when talon or hand value falls below a set threshold
- Ace marriage scoring
- Golden round option
- Combined barrel play scenarios
Barrel Game During "Own Turn":
A player with 880 points may initiate a barrel round during their own turn.
The turn is considered "own" when the player holds first bidding rights.
In this case, the player automatically wins the bidding and receives the talon (regardless of other players' card strength).
Failed attempts result in one penalty strike plus a 120-point deduction.
After three failed attempts, the player's points are reset.
When at barrel level without "own turn", normal gameplay continues but no points are awarded (failed attempts aren't recorded).
Multiple players simultaneously at barrel level may initiate barrel games according to turn order.
Thus, barrel play priority follows standard turn sequence in such situations.
