WHAT IS STENCILETTO?
Stenciletto is a collection of progressive brain exercises using fundamental geometric shapes. It aims to build and sharpen visual & spatial reasoning abilities. Everyone can enjoy it—the only requirements are recognizing basic shapes and understanding what a stencil does.
Solving each puzzle demands a blend of critical thinking skills: visual-spatial perception, logical reasoning, planning, and problem-solving, all at once. It seems simple but offers a genuine cognitive challenge. Your task is to tap geometric stencils in the right sequence to recreate the target pattern. It’s much tougher than it appears and will truly make you think!
The game was refined over a decade by an experienced teacher, with input from children, teens, adults, and individuals with learning differences or brain injuries. Every group found it engaging and motivating.
Our latest update introduces Education Mode, making the game classroom-ready. One purchase unlocks all relevant content. It includes controls for content access, internet use, Game Center, and sharing. Education Mode supports Family Sharing, perfect for homeschoolers as well.
HISTORY OF THE GAME
Originally called the Stencil Design IQ Test, it was created by early-20th-century psychologist Grace Arthur Ph.D. She recognized that non-verbal skills are a core component of intelligence. She found it suitable for children as young as seven and her fellow professors. Tasked with assessing Native American and deaf children who struggled with verbal IQ tests due to limited schooling, she used this activity to show they possessed IQs equal to educated Americans.
WHAT'S IN THE GAME?
Two game types are available. Classic Games use Grace Arthur’s original stencils—squares, circles, triangles, crosses—familiar to most. Our new World Games offer extended challenges for those with strong perception and logic.
Stenciletto includes over 600 graded puzzles. Every level offers a free sample set, giving you 60 puzzles to try at no cost.
Each paid game contains 15 puzzles. Finishing a Classic Game rewards you with an animated Smiley. These are based on famous historical and mythological figures, representing diverse cultures. They’re also a fun way to track your progress and achievements.
Different play modes are available:-
• Mortal Mode is the default: purchase lives or wait for them to regenerate. Timed and scored, with Mortal leaderboards.
• Immortal Mode gives you unlimited free lives; just refill your life bank as needed. Timed and scored, with Immortal leaderboards.
• Mindful Mode has no timer or scoring, letting you relax and solve at your own pace.
• Education Mode unlocks both Immortal and Mindful Modes, so you can choose either (Mortal Mode can be disabled).
