As a long-time PC gamer, I've been loyal to the allure of Steam sales for my gaming fix. Game Pass never quite pulled me in—until now. Yesterday's surprise drop of *The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered* by Bethesda and Virtuos onto Game Pass was a game-changer. The excitement didn't stop there; *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33* by Sandfall Interactive, a visually stunning JRPG, is set to join the service tomorrow. As an avid RPG enthusiast, I have to say, Microsoft, you've finally won me over.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Both Hit Game Pass This Week

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was unveiled and released across PC, consoles, and Game Pass on April 22. I, like many others, spent the day downloading and the night immersed in its enchanting music. The remaster boasts new character models, enhanced combat interactions, and revamped visual effects. While over five new voice actors were brought on board, Virtuos wisely retained the charm of the original's quirky dialogue. The base edition of the remaster is priced at $49.99, including the original DLCs, with a deluxe edition available for an additional $10.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the eagerly anticipated debut from French studio Sandfall Interactive, is set to launch at midnight PST tonight in the U.S. It's already scoring a stellar 92 on Metacritic, with IGN's 9/10 review lauding its story design as "a true modern throwback." The game's stylish UI evokes the Persona series, and its turn-based combat system is among the most innovative I've seen. The base edition is priced at $49.99, matching the Bethesda remaster.
While Expedition 33 was poised to be the star of April's Game Pass lineup, the unexpected release of Oblivion Remastered has cast a slight shadow over its debut. However, I see it as a win-win situation: two fantastic games for the price of one. Instead of shelling out $100 for both, I opted for a $20 Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Now, the only dilemma is when I'll see the sun again.
Game Pass has been adding more of 2025's biggest titles, including Blue Prince, South of Midnight, and Avowed, alongside classics like GTA V and the entire Call of Duty series. There truly is something for everyone.
Game Pass Is a Ridiculously Good Deal Right Now
Game Pass Ultimate is priced at $19.99/month, offering access to the full Game Pass library across console, PC, and cloud gaming. The PC-only Game Pass is a more budget-friendly $9.99/month. The Standard and Core tiers, at $14.99/month and $9.99/month respectively, do not include day-one releases. The last price increase was in July 2024, and with these high-profile game launches, another hike might be on the horizon.
Currently, there are no live Game Pass deals, but a three-month subscription could shield you from future price increases. For deals on other platforms, check out our roundup of PS5, PC, and Switch offers. Also, U.S. preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 go live tonight.
