Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles featuring multiple playable characters, each with unique weapons, Dynasty Warriors: Origins simplifies things. You play as a single character, gradually unlocking a diverse arsenal of weapons. Here's how to acquire each one:
Weapon Acquisition Guide
The game starts you with a Sword. Subsequent weapons are earned by defeating specific enemy officers in various missions. While most weapons can be obtained by the end of Chapter 3, the exact timing depends on which officers you defeat. Here's a breakdown of how I acquired each weapon:
- Spear: Complete the Battle of Guangyang (Chapter 1). You'll need to purchase it for story progression.
- Gauntlets: Defeat Zhou Cang in the Battle of Guangzong (Chapter 1).
- Wheels: Defeat Zhang Ju in the Suppression of You Province (Chapter 2).
- Podao: Defeat any officer wielding a Podao in the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits (Chapter 2). Multiple officers carry this weapon.
- Staff: Locate and defeat an officer within a secret treasure chamber accessed via a hidden passage during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo (Chapter 2).
- Twin Pike: Defeat Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate (Chapter 2).
- Lance: Defeat an officer wielding a Lance in the Battle of Xu Province (Chapter 2). This requires defeating an officer on the opposing side (Cao Cao or Liu Bei) depending on your chosen allegiance.
- Crescent Blade: This weapon is unlocked sometime in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction. The exact mission varies depending on your choices.
- Halberd (Final Weapon): This challenging weapon is unlocked after completing the main campaign. Defeat Lu Bu in the Battle of Hulao Gate to claim it – widely considered the game's most powerful weapon.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
