How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
In Hollow Era, you start as a Soul Spirit, a state where you're effectively dead. To transform into a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper, you must engage with an NPC named Hurt Shinigami who calls for help. By accepting her quest, you commit to the Shinigami path, locking out the possibility of playing as a Hollow—unless you later become a Visored. During the crucial Shinigami/Hollow selection, speed is key. Choosing to become a Hollow requires breaking your chain, but opting for Shinigami means the chain will slowly disintegrate over time, breaking completely every two minutes. If it breaks fully, you'll automatically turn into a Hollow, so be mindful of the timer. In such a case, refer to our resurrection moves list for your Hollow endgame strategy.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your initial quest as a Shinigami involves purifying 6 Lost Souls, aligning with your role in maintaining the balance between life and death. Next, you'll fetch a letter from an NPC near Hurt Shinigami and deliver it to a Doctor friend by the hospital.

These early quests are perfect for mastering your abilities. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop, and if you can afford it, utilize the bus stop for $200 as a teleport/fast travel option due to the game's expansive map. Alternatively, you can buy infinite fast travel for 149 Robux in the Robux Shop.

Subsequent quests are marked with a red crosshair, guiding you through various challenges. You'll start by defeating a Hollow, then 5 Corrupted Shinigamis, and so on, until you reach level 15. These quests range from repeatable tasks to progression quests, and those linked to special paths like Vizard and Airwalk.

Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
Maximizing your Shinigami Reiatsu requires strategic investment of skill points. The Reiatsu Skill Tree features powerful abilities called Kido, exclusive to Shinigami characters.
Kido and Reiatsu Nodes enhance your damage output and maximum Reiatsu, respectively. Below are some of the Kido abilities you can master:
Caja Negacion: Unleash a beam of lightning from your finger, spreading electricity when combined with the Electric skill. Shakkaho: Form a red energy ball in your hand, causing an explosion on impact. Use Ragdoll to knock back foes, or Fire to ignite them. Chain Bind: Summon energy chains to pull enemies towards you. Prison of Light: Immobilize enemies with six light rods, perfect for agile foes. Thunder Sear: Deploy a slow-moving lightning ball that damages and explodes, ideal for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
Reaching level 15 is the first step to obtaining a Shikai. Visit Urihiro to embark on the Shikai Training quest, where you must defeat Urahara Kisuke for 1,700 exp. Successfully completing this quest unlocks Shikai powers.

Warning: Beating Kisuke at level 15 can be tough if your hero isn't fully optimized. Consider grinding to level 25 or higher if you're not ready.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random powerful ability. If you're not satisfied, you can re-roll it at Urahara Shop for cash.
The game features a Rage Bar that fills with damage dealt or received. When full, press Y (default keybind) to activate Shikai, which deactivates when your Reiatsu runs out or you release the key.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Your Shikai Mastery Level depends on Mastery Points earned from using Shikai Skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce the Rage needed to maintain Shikai and come with different aura effects and character appearances.
Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points. Grants Transparent Aura. Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points. Grants a brighter aura with particles. Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points. Grants a Lightning boost. Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points. Grants a zone of flying stones around you.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Once committed to the Shinigami path, the Hollow route is inaccessible—unless you become a Visored. This allows you to break the barrier between Shinigami and Hollow, switching between the two with a Hollow Mask.
To become a Visored, you must reach level 50. At this point, you'll unlock the Vizard fighting style, accessible at the Vizard’s Warehouse. According to Bleach lore, Vizards are Shinigami with Hollow powers.

To fully embrace the Visored path, you'll need the Hogyoku, a mystical orb that breaks the barriers between Hollow and Shinigami. Defeating the King of Hueco Mundo—a boss with a 1% drop rate for Hogyoku—is your first step towards Visored mastery.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
Becoming a Visored grants immediate access to various perks. Mask Control reduces the chance of being controlled by your inner Hollow, while the Visored node extends the time you can wear the mask, boosting your damage output.

Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
Hollow Mask: Gain control over your inner Hollow, donning the mask at will. Cero: Charge a beam of Reiatsu for substantial damage. Final Cero: Pin down enemies and crush them with a powerful Cero. Vasto Rage: Transform into the mightiest Hollow type for a limited time, unleashing your full potential.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
Currently, Bankai is not available in Hollow Era. However, given the game's popularity, future updates may introduce it. No release date has been confirmed, so we'll need to wait patiently for this exciting addition.
Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Combat can be disorienting, so use the lockup button to focus on your primary target. This is crucial during laggy moments, especially when pinned by large Hollows without taking damage.
Master blocking enemy attacks early on to mitigate damage from even low-level foes. Death results in minor money loss, but the real challenge is trekking back to your quest targets.
Invest in the bus teleport for efficient travel across the large map. When allocating Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed to enhance your damage and mobility.
If lost, press and hold J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura with your Reiatsu sense.
While Hollows offer unique gameplay, they require more repetitive tasks. If you prefer less grinding, the Shinigami path is more suitable.
