Bam Margera, the former professional skateboarder and Jackass series star, was initially absent from the announced list of returning skaters for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. However, new reports suggest that Margera will indeed be included in the final roster of the highly anticipated title.
The update comes from veteran skateboarding journalist Roger Bagley during a members-exclusive livestream of The Nine Club skateboarding podcast (as reported by Video Games Chronicle).
According to Bagley, the game had already been completed when Tony Hawk reportedly reached out to Activision with a personal request to include Margera. Although initially told it wasn’t possible, Bagley claims that Hawk was persistent and refused to accept a "no" for an answer.
IGN has reached out to Activision for confirmation but has not yet received a response.
Margera, who rose to fame through his skating career and later became a central figure in the Jackass franchise, has faced well-documented personal struggles involving alcohol and substance abuse. These issues led to multiple rehab stints and ultimately resulted in his removal from Jackass Forever. Additionally, Margera was involved in a widely publicized incident that led to a restraining order being issued by Jackass director Jeff Tremaine following alleged threats made against him and his family.
Recent events may have reignited speculation around Margera’s potential return to the game. He and Tony Hawk were seen skateboarding together in a recently released video, sparking initial rumors about his involvement in the project.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, which launched earlier this month, is set to release on July 11, 2025, across PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game is being developed by Iron Galaxy Studios and marks a revival of the project after it was nearly canceled due to the internal restructuring at Activision, including the merger of former developer Vicarious Visions into Blizzard.
