If you've been longing for a return to Tony Hawk's Underground, you're in good company — Tony Hawk himself is also "campaigning" for a remake.
"I always have aspirations," Hawk shared with ScreenRant. "It's not up to me generally. I'll campaign all I can, but I'm working with a much bigger company that's a lot smarter than me."
When asked if Activision had hinted at future projects following the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, Hawk remained coy, stating, "We haven't even released this game [yet]!"
Originally launched in 2003, Tony Hawk's Underground received a stellar 9.2 review score from us due to its "virtually flawless" level design and "stellar gameplay." It was groundbreaking for allowing players to dismount their boards and explore expansive levels on foot for the first time in the series.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is slated for release on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One on July 11, 2025. Activision is curating the official THPS 3 + 4 playlist on Spotify, continuously updating it with new songs — check out the latest updates in our full soundtrack list here."In an era where many early 2000s games are being remastered, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 stands out as a promising addition to a year filled with top-notch remakes and remasters," we noted in IGN's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 first impressions preview.
"From its faithful recreation of the memorable elements from the PS2-era classics, to modern quality of life enhancements, an exceptional soundtrack, and a heartfelt tribute to the series' early days, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is definitely something you should keep an eye on if you're a fan of skateboarding, enjoy action sports games, or simply want to play something that's straightforward and enjoyable.
