"Spider-Man 2 PC Release Hacked in One Hour"

The PC release of *Spider-Man 2* took an interesting turn when it was made available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store without any protective measures. This absence of pre-order and pre-download options, coupled with a hefty 140 gigabyte distribution size, meant the game couldn't be hacked before its official release. However, within just an hour of hitting the digital shelves, hackers managed to download and crack the game, confirming the lack of sophisticated defense systems.

Sony opted for a more subdued marketing approach for this title. The system requirements were only disclosed a day before the game's PC launch, adding an element of surprise for eager gamers. Despite this, *Spider-Man 2* has secured the seventh spot among Sony's top releases on Steam, trailing behind heavyweights like *God of War*, *Horizon*, and even *Days Gone*.

Initial player feedback has been less than stellar. At the time of this post, the game boasts a 55% positive review rate from 1,280 reviews, with users pointing out optimization issues, crashes, and bugs as significant concerns.

In contrast, *Spider-Man Remastered* continues to reign supreme as the online leader within the series on PC, having previously attracted over 66,000 concurrent players. Whether *Spider-Man 2* can come close to matching its predecessor's record remains to be seen, particularly over the upcoming Friday and weekend. If current sales trends hold, the game might still achieve a respectable performance.
