Sonic Rumble Release Temporarily Delayed
Sega has announced version 1.2 update packed with exciting new features
Discord Q&A session scheduled to address player questions
Following an impressive pre-launch crossover featuring Super Monkey Ball, Altered Beast, and other Sega classics, Sonic Rumble's global release has been postponed. The multiplayer battle royale game, which had gained tremendous momentum with over 1.4 million pre-registrations, will now have its launch delayed while Sega implements additional improvements.
Exciting New Features Coming
The delay allows the development team to finalize update 1.2, bringing transformative additions to Dr. Eggman's toybox world. Players can anticipate three major gameplay enhancements:
- Rumble Rankings: Competitive seasonal leaderboards with exclusive rewards
- Crews: Team-based gameplay allowing friends to complete score missions together
- Character Skills: New special abilities adding deeper strategic elements

Sega has prioritized quality over rushing to market, opting to polish these features before launch. Players can get their questions answered during the official Discord Q&A scheduled for May 2nd.
Pre-Registration Rewards Still Secured
Despite the delay, all pre-launch incentives remain guaranteed:
- 5,000 Rings starting currency
- Crystal Chao Buddy companion
- Happy Sticker cosmetic
- Garnet Knuckles character skin
- Exclusive Movie Sonic skin (1.4 million milestone unlock)
Pre-registration remains open through official channels. Sonic Rumble will launch as a free-to-play title with optional in-app purchases.
