While Ryan Reynolds hasn't officially pitched anything to Marvel yet, he's reportedly in the "early stages" of developing a Deadpool and X-Men film.
According to THR, Reynolds envisions an ensemble film where Deadpool appears but isn't the central focus. Instead, he'd share screen time with three or four other X-Men characters, with Reynolds aiming to place these characters front and center so they can be "used in unexpected ways."
This project, separate from the X-Men film being developed by Hunger Games writer Michael Lesslie, appears to follow a similar path as Deadpool & Wolverine. Reynolds is known for developing ideas independently for extended periods before presenting them to Marvel—the early concept for Deadpool & Wolverine, for instance, was a low-budget road trip movie.
This isn't the first mention of Reynolds working on a Deadpool "ensemble" film, but it does provide more insight into the kinds of adventures the Merc With a Mouth might embark on.
As for which X-Men characters could join Deadpool, that remains a mystery. However, Deadpool has a history of teaming up with X-Men members and has already featured several allies and villains from the franchise in his movies, including Wolverine, Colossus, Sabretooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit.
