GoldenEye fans, prepare to be thrilled—IO Interactive has announced that their highly anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive’s website, this game promises to delve into an entirely new narrative within the Bond universe.
"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer stated, setting the stage for what fans can expect from the game’s storyline.
In an interview with IGN back in October, IO Interactive's Head, Hakan Abrak, shared insights into the development of this brand-new origin story for the iconic spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained to IGN. Abrak further elaborated on the vision for the game, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
While a release date remains undisclosed, fans can stay updated on all the latest announcements from the Nintendo Direct today right here.
