Pokemon TCG Pocket has announced new Shining Revelry expansion, arriving later this month

Author : Oliver May 26,2025

My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I dive in deeply whenever a new set is released and remain engaged as long as there are Emblems to earn for achieving around 40 wins. Once that's done, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening packs, enjoying a Wonder Pick for fun, and then logging off until the next day. This pattern will kick off again with the arrival of the new expansion, Shining Revelry, on March 27th.

This expansion will bring 110 new cards to the game, featuring a mix of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and the stunning art cards we've all come to adore. The highlight, hinted at by the expansion's name, is the introduction of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokemon are unique color variants of your favorite creatures. For instance, Lucario will appear in yellow instead of blue, and Pachirisu will boast a striking pink stripe.

The trailer, which you can view below, offers a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come. A new Shiny Charizard Ex is set to debut, boasting 180 HP and a formidable attack called Steam Artillery that deals 150 damage. The catch? It requires five energy cards. However, its other move, Stoke, allows you to attach three Fire Energy at once, making it a bit more manageable.

Another exciting addition is the new Lucario Ex. Previously playing a supporting role in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is now ready for frontline combat. With 150 HP and the Aura Sphere attack, which deals 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and hits an opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30, it's a card to watch.

The trailer also showcases other cards that, while not game-changers, are still noteworthy. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on the horizon, each looking fantastic. Additionally, there's a beautifully designed Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases available. If you're interested, you can download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
