People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This new collaboration is for a project codenamed Project Delta, which will be developed as a work-for-hire game. While the specifics of Project Delta remain under wraps, this partnership signifies another exciting venture for the studio.
People Can Fly is not slowing down, currently juggling an impressive array of projects. Alongside Project Delta, they are working on Project Gemini with Square Enix, which faced setbacks with the layoff of 30 developers last year. They're also collaborating on Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red (seemingly with Sony as well), and the recently announced Project Bison, which will be their final venture into VR gaming.
Despite the ambitious lineup, the studio has had to make tough decisions recently. Last December, People Can Fly announced the suspension of Project Victoria and scaled down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they canceled Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was being developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Even with these changes, People Can Fly remains committed to delivering quality gaming experiences. They currently have a total of eight known projects in development, including the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day is yet to be announced, Project Gemini with Square Enix is slated for a 2026 release. Fans of People Can Fly can look forward to a diverse range of gaming experiences in the coming years.
