Nintendo Announces Switch-Focused Direct Presentation

What to Expect From Tomorrow's Nintendo Direct

Nintendo has officially scheduled a new Nintendo Direct presentation focusing exclusively on current Switch titles. The 30-minute showcase kicks off at 7am PT on March 27th, with Nintendo already confirming no Switch 2 details will be revealed - that apparently waits for April 2nd's dedicated event.

The timing suggests this could serve as a celebratory farewell to the massively successful Switch platform, which has sold over 150 million units worldwide. While all eyes may be on the upcoming successor, Nintendo clearly still has plenty in store for the current hardware.

Confirmed and Likely Appearances

Several major titles are still slated for the original Switch in 2025. These include the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the mystery-solving adventure Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, and the recently announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

All eyes will also be watching for any update on Hollow Knight: Silksong, initially announced as a Switch title way back in 2019. With Switch 2 being backwards compatible, these could effectively serve as cross-generation releases.

The Switch's Final Bow?

After eight incredible years on the market, tomorrow's presentation may represent Nintendo's last major showcase of exclusive Switch content. That said, Nintendo has proven time and again its ability to surprise fans - perhaps we'll see some unexpected announcements proving the current console still has life left in it.

Viewers can tune in via Nintendo's official channels when the stream goes live tomorrow morning. While Switch 2 news remains off the table, there's plenty to look forward to as Nintendo celebrates the current console's incredible legacy.
