Nintendo has officially announced a delay in the retail release of the Alarmo in Japan due to stock shortages. Dive deeper into the details and what this means for the future of the Alarmo.
Alarmo General Sale in Japan Postponed
Nintendo Japan has confirmed through an official statement on their website that the general sale of the Nintendo Alarmo alarm clock has been pushed back to a yet-to-be-announced date. The initial launch was set for February 2025 but has been delayed due to challenges in production and inventory management. At this point, there's no information available on whether this delay will impact stock availability in other regions, where a public release is planned for March 2025.
In response to the situation, Nintendo has introduced a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. The pre-order window will open in mid-December, with the Alarmo units scheduled for dispatch in early February 2025. The exact commencement date for pre-orders will be shared in an upcoming announcement.
Nintendo’s Very Own Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo is a unique gaming-themed alarm clock that features iconic soundtracks from beloved Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with the promise of additional sounds through future updates.
Initially available at Nintendo's official retail outlets worldwide and online with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, the Alarmo's overwhelming popularity led Nintendo to halt new online orders and implement a lottery system for purchasing. Physical stocks were completely sold out in Nintendo stores in Japan and at the Nintendo store in New York.
Keep an eye out for further updates on pre-order details and the rescheduled general sales date!
