Sanctum Showdown: A New Limited-Time Competitive Mode
Marvel Snap introduces a thrilling two-week event with Sanctum Showdown, a temporary competitive mode featuring unique snapping mechanics. Players must race to accumulate 16 points—a fresh victory condition—while the Sanctum location serves as the primary battleground through March 11th.
Revolutionary Gameplay Rules
Unlike standard matches, Sanctum Showdown doesn't extend to turn six—instead, the first player to reach 16 points claims victory. The special Sanctum location awards bonus points each turn, while modified snapping mechanics allow strategic point manipulation. Starting turn three, each snap increases the Sanctum's value by one point, keeping matches dynamic.
Rewards and Progression System
Matches cost one Scroll to enter, with wins granting additional Scrolls. Players begin with 12 Scrolls, replenishing two every eight hours, and can purchase more for 40 Gold when depleted. Every completed match contributes to your Sorcerer Rank and rewards Charms—redeemable in the Sanctum Shop for exclusive cosmetics and cards.
Restricted Cards and Strategy Shifts
To maintain balance, certain cards like Captain Marvel and Dracula are disabled—particularly abilities affecting final outcomes. Other restricted cards include Debrii, preventing dominant single-strategy gameplay. Players can optimize their approach using our Marvel Snap tier list for deck-building guidance.
Exclusive Card Acquisition
Sanctum Showdown offers early access to upcoming cards including Laufey, Gorgon, and Uncle Ben before their Token Shop release on March 13th. Portal Pulls provide chances to unlock these cards for free alongside potential Series 4 or 5 card drops.
This limited-time mode runs through March 11th. For complete details, visit the official Marvel Snap website.
