Marvel Rivals: PvE Mode Still Uncertain, but NetEase Exploring Options

While Marvel Rivals is a relatively new game, player anticipation for significant additions is high, particularly a PvE mode. Recent speculation, fueled by rumors of a potential PvE boss fight, has been addressed by NetEase. While currently no concrete PvE plans exist, the possibility remains open.

At the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu stated that while there are no immediate PvE plans, the development team actively explores new game modes. The team is focused on creating an engaging and fun experience, and a PvE mode would only be implemented if it met these criteria. He further clarified that a full-fledged hardcore PvE mode would significantly alter the current game experience, leading them to experiment with "lighter" approaches, potentially including limited-time events.

This sentiment was echoed by Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo, who engaged in the discussion and acknowledged player interest in a PvE mode.

Currently, Marvel Rivals receives updates approximately every six weeks, introducing new characters. The Human Torch and The Thing are slated for release on February 21st. Separate discussions with Wu and Koo also covered potential Nintendo Switch 2 release and addressed speculation regarding intentionally misleading dataminers with false hero leaks.
