Switch 2 Super Mario Kart World Bundle

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle

  • $499.99 at Best Buy

Choosing the Switch 2 bundle with Super Mario Kart World saves you $30 compared to buying the console and game separately. Keep in mind, the bundle includes a digital copy of the game, so you won't receive a physical cartridge or game box. If owning a physical copy is a priority for you, consider spending the extra $30 to get it.

Yes, the MSRP Is $79.99

When purchased independently, Mario Kart World is priced at $79.99, which is $10 more than the standard price of AAA games on PlayStation and Xbox. While I'm not thrilled about the price increase between console generations, I understand that game development costs are rising. I'm hopeful that the expanded scope of Mario Kart World justifies the higher price tag.

What Is Mario Kart World?

Play

Mario Kart World is set to be the largest Mario Kart game ever, featuring an expansive open world reminiscent of the Forza Horizon series. In Grand Prix mode, you can seamlessly transition from the end of one track to the start of another. The game's tracks are dynamic, influenced by weather and time of day, affecting visibility and traction. You're also free to explore off the designated tracks, driving "virtually everywhere" as stated by Nintendo. Each race accommodates up to 24 drivers, surpassing previous Mario Kart games.

A new mode, Knockout Tour, challenges you to race across the open world, passing through checkpoints with specific placement requirements. Fall behind, and you're out of the race. For a more relaxed experience, Free Roam mode lets you and your friends explore the world at your leisure, capturing photos along the way.

More details about Mario Kart World will be revealed during the Nintendo Direct on April 17. In the meantime, check out our hands-on preview for more insights.
