When it comes to iconic female fighting game characters, three names instantly come to mind: Nina Williams, Chun-Li, and Mai Shiranui. While fans have seen Nina and Chun-Li face off in Street Fighter x Tekken, we won't see their interaction in the near future. However, this isn't the case for Mai Shiranui, who is set to join Street Fighter 6 as a new guest character. It seems fitting that the developers chose to pit Mai against the legendary Chun-Li in her gameplay trailer.
Mai's trailer showcases her signature moves, with her super move looking particularly impressive. There's no doubt that Mai will become a fan-favorite character in Street Fighter 6. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a bit longer to play as her, as Capcom has announced her release date for February 5, not January as some might have hoped.
This means we'll have to wait three more weeks. In the meantime, we hope the Street Fighter 6 team will keep us engaged with more exciting content to tide us over until Mai's arrival.
