Let's dive into the details of these new cards. First up is the Cloudspire Coordinator, an uncommon creature card that encapsulates the essence of the red-white color pairing in Aetherdrift. This card is a nod to the Cloudspire Racing Team from the plane of Kylem, originally introduced in the 2v2-focused set, Battlebond. With a power of 3, the Cloudspire Coordinator is designed to crew vehicles effectively. Additionally, its activated ability allows you to create Pilot token creatures, offering a versatile strategy for piloting your vehicles during an Aetherdrift draft.
Next, we have the rare enchantment, Count on Luck. This 3-mana card is as straightforward as its all-red casting cost suggests. At the beginning of each of your turns, you exile the top card of your library, which you can then play during that turn. Known as "impulse draw," this mechanic ensures a consistent flow of extra cards in your mono-red deck, provided you can utilize them immediately. It's a use-it-or-lose-it scenario that can add a dynamic edge to your gameplay.
We're also excited to showcase Count on Luck in its extended-art and First-Place Foil versions. While the extended-art version offers a familiar wider view by removing the card frame on the sides, the First-Place Foils are a fresh addition to Aetherdrift. These exclusive golden cards can only be found in a randomized buy-a-box promo pack included with every Aetherdrift box. All rares in the set, along with 10 full-art lands, will receive this stunning treatment.
Mark your calendars—Aetherdrift is set to launch on February 14, both in paper and online formats, with prereleases starting on February 7. To delve deeper into the set's mechanics, click here. Get ready for an exhilarating race across the multiverse with Aetherdrift!
