Activists have targeted the upcoming Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 following the discovery of subpoenas within the game's code. A campaign to cancel the game's release has been launched.
The controversy surrounding KCD 2 intensified after reports of its ban in Saudi Arabia surfaced online. Speculation regarding the game's content and alleged "progressive" themes quickly spread, fueled by activists like Grummz.
The developers have faced a barrage of online attacks, with calls to boycott Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and condemn the studio.
Warhorse Studios' PR manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, responded to the controversy, urging the public to rely on official statements and avoid unverified online information.
Stolz-Zwilling confirmed that review codes would be distributed in the coming days, following the game's "gold master" status achieved in early December. These codes are expected to be released approximately four weeks prior to launch, allowing streamers and reviewers ample time to prepare their content.
Interestingly, the first "final previews," based on review copies, are anticipated a week after the initial code distribution.
