King of the Hill Revival Confirmed for Next Year

Author : Sarah Dec 02,2025

The King of the Hill has triumphantly returned, with Season 14 attracting 4.4 million viewers in its debut week and earning widespread critical praise, our own included. Fans will be delighted to know this revival wasn't a one-time event. A Vulture report confirms a second season has already been recorded and is slated for release next year—a decision made by Hulu even before the show's successful return was assured.

According to the report, Hulu originally ordered 20 half-hour episodes when announcing the King of the Hill revival in 2023. However, only ten episodes aired as Season 14. The remaining ten are reportedly being held for a second season, planned to air on Hulu next year as Season 15. This allowed the show's writers and producers to develop story arcs and character decisions spanning two seasons, granting them greater creative flexibility and time to develop certain plots.

If Season 15 maintains the quality of Season 14, it could pave the way for additional seasons. Vulture suggests renewal discussions are expected to begin soon, with optimism running high as King of the Hill is projected to debut at No. 2 on Nielsen's streaming originals and overall charts, trailing only Netflix's Wednesday.

Reviving King of the Hill 15 years after the original series concluded was a bold endeavor. Several original voice actors have passed away, both before and after the production of Season 14. The United States has undergone significant changes, a reality Hank Hill confronts upon his return from Saudi Arabia at the start of the new season. A necessary time jump has aged the characters, with Bobby experiencing some of the most noticeable development, even while retaining his core personality. Considering these challenges, it's remarkable that Mike Judge and Greg Daniels delivered such a successful revival—and hopefully, they will continue this success with Season 15 next year.
