Infinity Nikki Players Protest Update 1.5, Threaten Uninstall Over Controversial Changes

Author : Savannah May 13,2025

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have finally arrived on Steam, but instead of a celebratory launch, they've been met with a storm of controversy. Infold Games’ stylish dress-up adventure, which transitioned from Epic Game Store exclusivity to Valve’s digital platform, has been overshadowed by a series of technical glitches, unexpected design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. The developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the battle for Infinity Nikki's future is far from over.

PC players eagerly anticipated the Steam release, but were quickly disappointed by technical issues ranging from crashes to overall instability. While launch problems are not uncommon, the influx of players soon highlighted more than just performance woes.

The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces and up to 220 pulls to complete, caught players off guard. This shift from the usual outfit sizes, without prior notice, sparked fears that future outfits might demand even more effort and resources to collect.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. This sudden change, coupled with ongoing technical issues and perceived aggressive monetization tactics, prompted a significant backlash from the Infinity Nikki Chinese player base. The discontent spread rapidly across social media, particularly on RedNote, culminating in a global movement urging players to boycott the game on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall it across all platforms.

"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," Reddit user kiaxxl stated in a call-to-action post. They highlighted the importance of the initial days in measuring the success of new content in gacha games, suggesting that a collective pause on pulls could send a strong message to the developers.

The community's response has been impactful, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players voice their concerns through negative reviews, cautioning potential new players to steer clear until their demands are met.

The growing boycott led Infold to release an apology letter across their official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improvements in communication regarding future adjustments. The letter also included plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, alongside compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds.

While some players see this as a step forward, others remain skeptical, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits. The community's call for continued pressure is evident, with Reddit user EdensAsmr warning that accepting the current standards could lead to even more demanding updates in the future.

I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the ongoing issues, Infinity Nikki stylists are celebrating the swift response to their collective action, even if it's not the complete victory they hoped for. The community is now focused on maintaining the pressure to ensure the game remains enjoyable and fair for all players.
