HoYoverse has revealed Genshin Impact's next major update - Version 5.7: A Space and Time for You - launching June 18th. This expansive update introduces new playable characters, story developments, a challenging combat mode, and an intellectual mini-game crafted by Sumeru Akademiya scholars.
Skirk Makes Her Playable Debut in Version 5.7!
The enigmatic Abyss-aligned warrior Skirk, famously known as Childe's mysterious mentor, finally becomes playable. Her unique combat system features dual fighting styles and a signature ability called Serpent's Subtlety. She's joined by Dahlia, a 4-star Hydro support character serving as Deacon of the Church of Favonius.
The update's first banner phase will feature Skirk, Dahlia, and a Shenhe rerun. The second phase brings the Pyro Archon Mavuika's return alongside Emilie.
Expanding Teyvat's Narrative Horizons
Version 5.7 continues the storyline from the Bedtime Story quest, deepening the Traveler's journey with their sibling as Abyss Order activity intensifies in Natlan. Tensions mount as Mavuika and her forces prepare for conflict, while Dainsleif returns in a surprising new form to aid the Traveler.
Sumeru Akademiya introduces an innovative simulated adventure event combining tactical gameplay with roguelike elements. Players will assemble teams of Companion Pieces and choose between rainforest or desert expedition paths.
The update also launches Stygian Onslaught - a permanent endgame combat mode featuring three rotating bosses across six difficulty levels. Rewards include Artifacts and the valuable Dust of Enlightenment, which allows substat rerolls on max-level Artifacts.
For lighter moments, Travelers' Tales: Gilded Chapter offers heartwarming vignettes featuring fan-favorite characters including Thoma, Neuvillette, and Dori.
