Freedom Wars Remastered immerses players in a gripping dystopian world where they, as Sinners, battle monstrous Abductors to safeguard humanity. Enhancing combat prowess is key, and this can be achieved by upgrading weapons and accessories. Upgrading not only boosts base stats but also allows the addition of modules for further enhancements.

Players can begin upgrading their weapons early in the game, without solely depending on mission rewards or enemy drops. This guide provides detailed insights on upgrading weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

To upgrade weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, players need to advance in the main story until they reach Level 002 Code Clearance. At this point, CODE 2 Sinners unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Within the Weapon Development Facility, players can oversee all their weapons. Upgrading involves using specific resources and Entitlement Points, but costs can be mitigated by recruiting a Citizen. Each Citizen offers varying reduction rates based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. Though it may seem complex at first, the system becomes intuitive once you start using it.

Before proceeding with an upgrade, a screen will show the anticipated changes in your weapon's stats. The Weapon Development Facility also enables players to incorporate Elements and tinker with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate a weapon to a higher Grade, players need to acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

In the initial phases of the main story, missions typically yield modest rewards, often limited to Grade Level 1 weapons. Although you can acquire weapons and combat items from Zakka in The Warren, these are mostly restricted to Grade Level 1, making upgrades nearly indispensable. A CODE 3 Exam mandates securing higher Grade Development Facility Permits, allowing players to enhance any weapon they prefer and retain it, while donating lower-grade weapons from missions to shorten their sentence and earn additional Entitlement Points.

The initial upgrade at the Weapon Development Facility triggers the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with more achievements linked to the upgrading system, appealing to trophy hunters. The significant damage disparity between weapons of different Grades motivates players to invest time in upgrading their gear.

Additionally, players can later access the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, which unlocks further into the game.
