Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak will launch on June 17, 2025. This exciting new addition to the Control universe is designed as a session-based, multiplayer PvE experience, featuring dynamic missions called Jobs. Each Job offers unique challenges, objectives, and environments, demanding teamwork and adaptability from players.
FBC: Firebreak is set to be available on multiple platforms including PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, with a price tag of $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Notably, it will be accessible from day one on PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). This marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing.
Alongside the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This premium package includes exclusive cosmetics and voice packs such as "The Firestarter" and "The Pencil Pusher" Premium Voice Packs, the Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves), a Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin, and the Golden Firebreak Spray. Additionally, the Deluxe Edition features the Classified Requisition: "Firestarter," which offers a collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7.
The game introduces a new system called Requisitions, which allows players to earn in-game currency through gameplay and unlock a variety of gear and cosmetics, including weapons, equipment, armor, and sprays. These items are always available without any time-limited windows or rotating stores. For those seeking additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items purchasable with real money, yet these items are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay.
Remedy has committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and further updates in 2026. All new playable content, such as Jobs, will be free to all players, with the option to purchase cosmetics that do not impact gameplay. Remedy assures that there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-in requirements.
Amidst a busy schedule, Remedy is also working on other projects, including Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, ensuring a vibrant future for fans of their unique storytelling and gameplay.
