In the game, a two-person emergency response team is dispatched by Elsewhere Electric's corporate executives to restore operations at a malfunctioning facility. The VR participant, designated as the Installer, navigates the dark and unsettling building interior.
Meanwhile, the mobile player, known as the Operator, remains stationed in a support vehicle monitoring the complex through a command interface. With a comprehensive overhead view of the entire layout, the Operator can manipulate environmental elements in ways inaccessible to the Installer. This makes clear communication absolutely essential for mission success.
Elsewhere Electric draws inspiration from the multi-layered puzzle design of The Witness and the atmospheric tension of Severance. The gameplay fundamentally requires players to rely on their partner's unique perspective and strategic guidance.
Working in tandem, you'll decipher cryptic symbols and overcome environmental obstacles. As you progress, you'll acquire new capabilities that allow you to fundamentally rearrange the facility's architecture. You'll also need to remain vigilant against unseen creatures hiding in the shadows.
