Elden Ring: Nightreign is set to launch imminently, and ahead of its release, Bandai Namco has officially rolled out the game’s day-one patch. This update, labeled Patch 1.01, brings several key enhancements aimed at improving gameplay and overall performance.
The patch went live today, according to Bandai Namco, with the game scheduled to officially launch on May 29 or May 30 depending on your region. For exact global release times, be sure to check the official schedule.
Among the updates included in Patch 1.01 are improvements to character handling, adjustments to gameplay balance, revisions to in-game text, and additions to the soundtrack. The patch also introduces new character scenarios and a variety of bug fixes designed to enhance player experience.
“This update includes gameplay and stability improvements to ensure a smooth start to your journey in Limveld,” stated Bandai Namco. You can confirm you're running the latest version by checking for 'Ver. 1.01' displayed in the bottom-right corner of the title screen.
In a recent [ttpp] with IGN, Elden Ring: Nightreign director Junya Ishizaki addressed the game’s co-op structure. When asked why two-player co-op isn’t supported, Ishizaki admitted that it was an oversight during development.
“To be honest, we simply overlooked implementing a two-player-only option,” Ishizaki said. “Our primary focus was designing the game as a three-player co-op experience, balanced around that format. That remains the core of Nightreign.”
He continued, “I personally understand the appeal of playing just with one partner, and we considered this from the beginning. We invested a lot of effort into ensuring the solo experience was strong given the systems we introduced. Unfortunately, during that process, we neglected to include a dedicated duos mode. However, it’s something we’re aware of and are considering for future post-launch updates.”
