Techland made waves at Summer Game Fest 2025 by revealing Dying Light: The Beast will launch on August 22, 2025 for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The unexpected announcement means players will soon return to Kyle Crane's story after his absence in 2022's Dying Light 2. Accompanying the release date reveal is new gameplay footage showcasing brutal combat against hordes of infected.
Techland describes Dying Light: The Beast as a "fusion of open-world exploration and survival horror action." Set in the treacherous Castor Woods region, players must utilize all available resources to survive the nightmarish landscape.
"You play as Kyle Crane, who endured years of torturous experiments under the Baron," the official description states. "Now possessing both human and infected DNA, you battle to control your monstrous alter ego while seeking vengeance against your tormentor."
This standalone story expands Techland's post-apocalyptic universe. Pre-orders are now live, offering early buyers the Hero of Harran bundle containing exclusive gear like the Ultimate Survivor Outfit, Harran Combat Knife, and Follower Crossbow.

With the game's release just months away, fans won't have long to wait. For more gaming news, check out all the major announcements from Summer Game Fest 2025.
