Funcom has released a thrilling new trailer for Dune: Awakening, their massively multiplayer online survival game set in Frank Herbert's iconic Dune universe. This latest preview showcases the breathtaking, expansive deserts of Arrakis and hints at the perilous journey awaiting players.
Survival in Dune: Awakening hinges on exploration. Players must traverse the treacherous dunes, scavenging vital resources to construct shelters and vehicles, including formidable ornithopters for combat. A handy scanner aids in resource gathering, while strategically deploying probes on higher ground reveals crucial points of interest on the map.
These points of interest range from wrecked spacecraft to deserted outposts, often requiring clever navigation and the use of specialized tools. Grappling hooks, power belts, and other advanced gear are essential for reaching these locations and overcoming obstacles. All equipment is upgradeable at your base using modular components, ensuring players are always adequately prepared for the harsh realities of Arrakis.
Dune: Awakening enters early access on PC via Steam on May 20th. Console players (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) will need to wait for a later full release.
