Bethesda and id Software have unveiled a fresh demonstration of DOOM: The Dark Ages during the Xbox showcase, confirming the much-anticipated release date of May 15. This new installment transports players back to the Medieval era, promising a gameplay experience that distinctly diverges from its predecessor, DOOM: Eternal.
In DOOM: The Dark Ages, players will embody the essence of a "killing machine" and a formidable tank. Unlike the constant jumping and parkour of DOOM: Eternal, this game emphasizes a more grounded approach. Players will spend more time on the battlefield, utilizing an extensive arsenal to obliterate demons.
Key weapons in this demon-slaying adventure include a shield and a mace, adding a brutal medieval twist to the combat. A groundbreaking feature is the introduction of a giant mech, allowing players to dominate slightly smaller demons with sheer mechanical power. Additionally, the thrill of riding a dragon during the campaign adds an exhilarating dimension to the gameplay.
DOOM: The Dark Ages also introduces a flexible difficulty customization system. Players can tailor their experience by adjusting enemy damage, challenge levels, and other parameters to suit their preferred playstyle.
