No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Acquiring Solanium

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to locate, farm, and craft this valuable material.

Locating Solanium:

Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot, arid planets. Before landing, use your starship scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also indicate Solanium as a resource.

Upon landing, employ your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These grow in clusters and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. While on these planets, collect Phosphorus deposits as well; they are crucial for Solanium crafting.

Farming Solanium:

Once you've progressed the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting takes approximately 16 real-time hours.

Crafting Solanium:

Several Refiner recipes yield Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (to produce more Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note that all these methods, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
