If you're striving for the ultimate conclusion in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, completing specific tasks is crucial, and saving Sam is a pivotal one. Knowing where to find Sam can greatly enhance your path to perfection.
Rescuing Sam During "Reckoning"
As you approach the climax of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. The rescue mission unfolds during the "Reckoning" quest, where you have two primary approaches: stealth or combat.
To navigate the camp without raising alarms, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can obtain one by either eliminating a guard and concealing their body or by looting one of the many chests scattered throughout the camp. Once disguised, you're free to search for Sam without arousing suspicion.

Sam is located in a barn on the left side of the camp, just past the area with the cooking fire. Use the ladder on the side of the barn to enter and confront Brabant. At this juncture, you face a critical decision: kill or spare Brabant. Opting to spare him contributes to achieving the best ending, but the choice ultimately rests with you.
When to Rescue Sam
After freeing Sam, it's not yet time to escape with him. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, another prisoner within the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then secure a horse, before returning to Sam for the final escape. Sam can safely wait while you handle these tasks, and this sequence makes the process smoother, as you'll need to carry him to the horse.
Von Aulitz is located in the central part of the camp. With your guard disguise, you can easily enter his quarters. Upon finding him, you'll encounter a dying von Aulitz requesting a dignified death. Granting this wish is considered the most honorable choice, but you also have the option to kill him brutally or leave him to die slowly. Interestingly, leaving him to die actually contributes to the best ending.
With von Aulitz dealt with, your next steps are to retrieve Sam and find a horse. Sam remains in the barn where you left him. If questioned by a guard, simply state you're moving the body to avoid suspicion. Proceed to the camp gates, exit, and turn right to circle around the camp's exterior.
