Discover the Mastery of Tier II Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Author : Jacob Feb 20,2025

In Avowed, upgrading your weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature Common (Level I) weapons and enemies, but the difficulty quickly escalates to Level II, demanding Fine (Tier II) equipment. This guide details how to acquire and improve your gear.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II)

While some Fine Quality weapons and armor can be found or purchased directly, others require upgrading. Avowed uses a dual-tiered system: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and upgrade levels (+1 to +3). Common (I) gear is green, Fine (II) is blue.

To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), utilize the workbenches located at Party Camps. Each upgrade level (+1 to +3) requires specific materials, varying by gear type. Reaching +3 unlocks the Fine (II) upgrade, demanding Adra – a rare crystal obtained through quests, merchant purchases, or dismantling Unique items.

Upgrading consumes significant resources. Alternatively, you can find Fine (II) gear early on in Dawnshore, though it's uncommon. Level II enemies, especially Bounties, may drop Fine (II) equipment, but Common gear proves ineffective against them. Stock up on health potions!

Paradis merchants offer Fine (II) weapons and armor. Access is granted after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sisters operate adjacent stalls: Merlylin sells magical items (grimoires, wands), while her blacksmith sister offers standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This concludes your guide to obtaining Fine weapons and armor in Avowed.
