Year of Prophecy Roadmap Revealed at Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Reveal Event
Destiny 2 continues to evolve, delivering fresh content to its dedicated free-to-play multiplayer community. At the Edge of Fate reveal livestream on May 7, Bungie introduced the Year of Prophecy roadmap, outlining the events scheduled for the remainder of the year.This year-long series of events marks a shift in Destiny 2's yearly update format. As stated by the developers, "Starting with the Year of Prophecy, each year will now feature four major content beats: two paid expansions and two major updates accessible to all players."
These updates will bring new events, Exotic Missions, gear, rewards, and more. Importantly, this new structure ensures that all players can enjoy Destiny 2’s major updates without needing to pay for seasonal activities.
The Edge of Fate Launches July 15
Kicking off the Year of Prophecy, Destiny 2's first expansion, The Edge of Fate, launches on July 15. Players will explore a new location, Kepler, and harness unique abilities with the help of new allies.
This update also introduces the Portal, "a new activity selection screen that offers instant access to a variety of activities tailored to different playstyles, making it easier than ever for players to find their next adventure."

Renegades Coming on December 2
Later this year, on December 2, Destiny 2 will release its second expansion, Renegades, which is a groundbreaking collaboration with the iconic Star Wars franchise.
This expansion merges Destiny’s creative storytelling and gameplay with Star Wars’ rich elements and themes, creating a sci-fi chapter that embodies the essence of both worlds. The collaboration will be pivotal to the Fate Saga, introducing new characters, mechanics, and more.
