Cyberpunk 2077 continues to receive developer attention as CD Projekt Red announces another upcoming update. Discover what's in store for Night City and whether this truly marks the game's final chapter.
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26
During their June 5 REDstreams event, CD Projekt Red revealed plans for Patch 2.3, scheduled for release on June 26. The developers promised to share more details in a forthcoming livestream before the update goes live.
CDPR's Global Community Director Marcin Momot confirmed the news on social media, with Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko hinting at surprises they've been secretly working on. The development team remains committed to polishing the Night City experience.
When Will Updates Finally End?
Despite multiple "final" update declarations, CDPR keeps delivering more content. Originally calling Patch 2.1 in December 2023 the "last big update," the studio later collaborated with Virtuos for Patch 2.2 in December 2024.
The developers humorously acknowledged their pattern during the latest stream: "Last update? Never heard of her."
This trend mirrors their support for The Witcher 3, which received unexpected updates years after its "final" patch. Recently, CDPR announced a true final update for The Witcher 3 featuring cross-platform mod support, coming for its 10th anniversary.
With Cyberpunk 2 in pre-production and The Witcher 4 development underway, these legacy game updates will likely conclude soon. For now, players can enjoy Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring the base game plus Phantom Liberty expansion.
