Author : Charlotte May 14,2025

Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, is set to make an unprecedented leap from the football pitch to the fighting ring as a playable character in the upcoming game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. This marks one of the most unexpected guest appearances in fighting game history, alongside fellow football legend Lionel Messi.

SNK Corporation, the developer and publisher behind the game, has released a trailer showcasing Ronaldo's integration into Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The trailer highlights Ronaldo's reimagining within the game's distinctive comic-inspired art style. Players can expect to see Ronaldo employing football-inspired attacks, including a move called Headed Clearance and a slide tackle. Notably, he also performs his iconic 'Siuuu' celebration, though Ronaldo's voice is provided by actor Juan Felipe Sierra, not Ronaldo himself.

Here's the official description of Ronaldo's character in the game:

One of the top football players in the world. He uses his time off to visit South Town to hone his new football skills. The various techniques he has developed playing football make him an unstoppable force, even to seasoned fighters.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo currently plays for Al Nassr FC, a professional football club in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, competing in the Saudi Pro League. The club is majority-owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Interestingly, SNK is now almost entirely owned by the Saudi Crown Prince's foundation, adding an additional layer of connection between Ronaldo and the game.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is slated for release on April 24, 2025. The game promises a dynamic art style, a roster of both new and familiar fighters, and updated battle systems, making it a highly anticipated title for fighting game enthusiasts and football fans alike.
