Post-Launch Updates for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Bug Fixes & Localization Improvements

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has released its first major update since launch. On April 30, Sandfall Interactive announced via a Steam blog post that Hotfix 1.2.2 is now live, addressing a range of bugs and refining localization.
Key fixes include resolving a soft-lock triggered by stunning the Grown Bourgeon, various world map soft-locks, and other in-game issues. The update also introduces improvements to the French, German, and Chinese translations across several game elements.

According to the announcement, the developers continue working on more fixes and improvements, with further details to be shared soon. While these patches are vital for game stability, many fans are eager for larger content updates, such as a possible DLC.
Earlier this week, the lead writer of Expedition 33 responded to fan inquiries on Instagram regarding DLC possibilities. While nothing was officially confirmed, the writer expressed optimism, noting the game's strong reception increases the likelihood of future downloadable content.
Expedition 33 Director Endorses Another RPG Released Simultaneously
In related news, Sandfall Games' Creative Director Guillaume Broche recommended another turn-based RPG that launched the same day as Expedition 33. In a post on the game's official Twitter (X) account on April 30, Broche encouraged players to explore The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. He wrote, "After your Expedition, check out The Hundred Line, another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."
This endorsement came in response to an earlier tweet from The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka, who praised Expedition 33. On April 28, Kodaka tweeted: "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" He continued to post multiple messages recommending both RPGs to fans.

Although The Hundred Line launched alongside major RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, it has earned a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 remains the highest-rated game of 2025, having sold more than one million copies within its first three days.
