Director Finds Switch 2 Release "Could Be Interesting"
Following the triumphant launch of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developer Sandfall Interactive is contemplating a release on the upcoming Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche shared insights into the studio's future plans, influenced by the game's resounding success.
Broche remarked, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything." This statement underscores the significant impact the game's achievements have had on the studio's strategic considerations.
When queried about the potential for a Switch 2 version, Broche indicated that the team is still evaluating numerous opportunities. He elaborated, "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting."
As anticipation builds for the Switch 2's launch, it would be fitting for this year's top-rated game to also appear on Nintendo's latest handheld console. Fans eagerly await confirmation on whether they'll be able to enjoy the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on this new platform.

The studio has yet to release any official merchandise and has cautioned fans against purchasing fake items circulating online. In a tweet on May 14, they stated, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."
Sandfall highlighted the use of AI-generated artwork on these unauthorized products and advised against buying them, warning that they could be scams. However, they are actively working on creating official Esquie plushies, as shared in their post, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
