A charming new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is launching on Android! The name's a clever blend of "cat" and "toast," reflecting the game's unique premise. Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers did, and the result is a perpetually spinning feline in a delightful anti-gravity loop!
Initially a 2022 BOOOM Gamejam entry by Team Woll, the positive reception led to its full development. Currently available on Steam for PC, Cato: Buttered Cat is soon heading to Android and other platforms. While the Google Play Store listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register on the official TapTap page for the Android version.
What awaits you in Cato: Buttered Cat?
This puzzle platformer features a cat and a piece of buttered toast as co-stars. Players solve puzzles, battle enemies, and explore whimsical worlds across five unique environments. With 200 levels (including side quests) and 30 outfits, there's plenty to discover. The narrative unfolds subtly throughout the gameplay, encouraging players to piece together the story.
The gameplay mechanics are innovative: the cat boasts typical feline agility, while the toast functions as a projectile, launching to help the cat reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Hidden rooms and Easter eggs add extra layers of fun.
