Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1

Author : Skylar May 05,2025

Excitement is building as Monster Hunter Wilds gears up for its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that challenge players to compete for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this update, Capcom has issued a strong statement against cheating, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment.

In a recent post on the Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter, Capcom warned players about the consequences of engaging in fraudulent activities: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." This stern warning underscores Capcom's dedication to preserving the integrity of the game.

Moreover, Capcom highlighted that the repercussions of cheating extend beyond the cheater themselves. Players who join multiplayer hunts with cheaters risk having their quest completion times invalidated and their "right to rewards" revoked for the entire party. Capcom advised players to be vigilant and avoid playing with those suspected of engaging in prohibited activities, urging them to report any instances of cheating they encounter.

The new quests will offer attractive rewards, including cosmetic pendants. Some rewards will be distributed to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This system explains Capcom's stringent measures against cheating, as it directly impacts the fairness of reward distribution and competition.

The Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja, which players can unlock by completing a special tutorial mission. Make sure to head straight to the Grand Hub once Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more details, check out the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 patch notes.
