The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make a grand entrance during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event. These formidable Pokémon come with exciting new Adventure Effects that enhance your gameplay outside of battle. To make the most of your experience, consider purchasing the Tour Pass, which will significantly boost your earnings and enhance your event rewards.
Black Kyurem's signature move, Freeze Shock, encases wild Pokémon in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing them and making them much easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, facilitating the landing of Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a maximum total duration of 24 hours.
During the event, you can challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. Once you fuse Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, the new moves, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn, will replace Glaciate. These moves revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. Note that currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
Participants can choose between two event badges: Black Version, featuring Reshiram, or White Version, showcasing Zekrom. Opting for the Black Version means that Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Conversely, the White Version grants Zekrom-themed rewards, with Kyurem encountered post-defeat of White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.
To enhance your progression, utilize the Tour Pass, which not only unlocks special rewards but also amplifies the effects of your Adventures. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or expedite your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Achieving Major Milestones will increase your Catch XP and prolong the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
